The Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking (JU) has launched its first Call for Proposals for research activities in 2015. All stakeholders (e.g. large industries, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), technology providers and academia) are encouraged to take part and thus help build a more competitive and resource-efficient European transport system.

Participation Rules

The Shift2Rail JU operates under Horizon 2020 rules observing the principles of openness, transparency and excellence. Participation is open to all, and the best proposals — evaluated by independent experts — will win.

Participant Portal

Horizon 2020’s Participant Portal is the single entry point that directs users to information on the EU’s research and innovation (R&I) funding, and allows interaction with the European Commission and its Executive Agencies. The portal offers services and tools to facilitate the monitoring and management of your proposals and projects.

All Shift2Rail JU Call information and documents are centralised on the Participant Portal. These include:

  • call description
  • topics and submission service
  • call documents
  • FAQ and support.

The Shift2Rail JU’s 2016 Info Day

On 20 January 2016, the Shift2Rail JU held its first Info Day in Brussels on the 2016 Shift2Rail JU funding call for proposals. The presentations are available here.

Contribution to the new S2R MAAP part A

The members of the S2R User Requirements, Implementation and Deployment working group (URID-WG) have been invited to provide their comments to the document by 22 September 2017. The document is expected to be approved by the S2R Governing Board on 27 October.
